Below, learn more about Headway Academy and how you can use it to expand your expertise and your therapy practice.
Quick overview: What is Headway Academy?
Headway Academy is Headway's learning center that offers access to dozens of courses, learning paths, events, and opportunities for continuing education through our partnerships with PESI, Violet, and the Eating Recovery Center (ERC). Courses cover categories such as onboarding with Headway, clinical quality, practice growth and expansion, psychiatric prescribing, and other clinical upskilling opportunities.
Who Headway Academy is for
Headway Academy is a resource for mental and behavioral health providers who are part of the Headway platform. All Headway providers can access an extensive library of courses that range from ten-minute "clinical shorts” to more robust training resources on topics like fraud, waste, and abuse.
While some courses are required for credentialing purposes, such as for Medicaid and Medicare providers, others can simply help providers learn and grow on Headway’s platform and in their general clinical skills. Headway also provides exclusive access to a diverse library of continuing education and CME courses at no cost through PESI, Violet, and ERC, which can help you obtain your CE requirements for your license.
What you can learn in Headway Academy
Headway Academy offers opportunities to learn about a range of topics that can help you provide the best possible care to your clients while maintaining and growing your Headway practice. Through Headway Academy content, you can learn about everything from building your caseload and setting up your Headway portal to marketing your practice and practicing compliant documentation.
Recently, Headway Academy launched a new course called Begin Here: Welcome to Headway.
This onboarding course introduces you to how Headway partners with providers, supports your practice operations, and shares responsibility for clinical quality, compliance, and client care. You can learn what it means to deliver care on our platform and how we set you up for success every step of the way.
For opportunities to learn about relevant clinical practices and patient populations, consider taking advantage of Headway’s partnerships with continuing education resources like PESI and Violet. PESI is a leading provider of continuing education resources for committed behavioral health professionals like you. Violet, meanwhile, offers a robust cultural competence training program, leading to improved quality of care across a variety of populations and lived experiences.
Format and accessibility
Headway Academy learners access asynchronous courses through Headway’s learning management system (LMS). Courses include written, audio, and video content to support all types of learning styles.
If there’s one, specific topic you’re interested in, you can embark on a learning path, a curated set of courses for a tailored learning experience (for example, Getting Started: Growing Your Caseload).
Want to learn even more about effectively maintaining your Headway practice or troubleshoot specific issues? You can also access sign-ups for live office hours with Headway team members to address topics ranging from practice management to billing and coding.
How to access Headway Academy
You can sign in to Headway using your Headway login credentials and enroll in Headway Academy courses at any time. Headway providers can access the Academy through their provider portal. Your personal dashboard shows courses in progress and completed courses in which you’ve earned a Headway certificate.
